ABOUT Bonnie's Kids Childcare Center

Bonnie's Kids Childcare Center began on November 10, 1987, initially located at 1324 Frederick Road, with a licensed capacity for 74 children. Before this, Bonnie had operated a home center for several years, but due to increasing demand, she ventured into establishing a church child care center in 1985. However, Bonnie found it challenging to maintain the church center according to her specifications, which ultimately led to the founding of Bonnie's Kids Childcare Center in 1987.

Responding to a rising demand for more enrollment, Bonnie acquired land on Enterprise Drive in 1992 and commenced planning for the initial phase of a new facility. Bonnie's Kids Childcare Center at 2314 Enterprise Drive officially opened its doors in May 1993, boasting a licensing capacity for 165 children. As the demand for high-quality child care continued to grow, Bonnie began considering an expansion. In 1998, she acquired additional land adjacent to the preschool playground, and the following year, construction began on four new preschool rooms, an expanded and improved preschool playground, and a new parking lot to accommodate both staff and parents. By August 1999, Bonnie's Kids Childcare Center had unveiled the new classrooms, increasing its licensed capacity to 225 children. To maintain a favorable child-staff ratio, enrollment was capped at 200 children, staying below the state's requirements for most classrooms.

In 2009, Bonnie decided to retire from her role as director and co-owner, a position she had held since 1991. Tammie assumed the role of owner and director of Bonnie's Kids Childcare Center, carrying forward the same passion and vision that had driven the center since its establishment in 1987.

We are thankful to have been allowed to work with so many wonderful children, parents, and employees. We look forward to many more years of serving the childcare needs of families in our community. Thank you for being a part of our history!

OUR MISSION

Bonnie’s Kids Childcare Center is a licensed early care and education center with staff trained to provide outstanding education, individual attention, and loving care for the children. Our mission at Bonnie’s Kids Childcare Center is to promote and maintain self-worth and self-esteem as physical, mental, and emotional growth of children through creative play and structured learning environments. Our program celebrates the diversity and uniqueness provided by each child and family. The curriculum is designed for the development level, abilities, and interests of the children.

The purpose of the center is to provide a safe, clean, caring, and learning environment in which each child may develop emotionally, socially, physically, and intellectually. This is to be accomplished by providing developmentally appropriate practice in which children learn best through “hands-on” experiences and with the help of teachers supporting their explorations and gently guiding them.
